NFN’s Week 11 NFL Picks

The fourth time Brett Favre faces his former team in purple doesn't mean as much as most expected.

By David Wilson
Packers (-3) over VIKINGS
Coming into this year this shaped up to be one of the best games of the year. Now both teams’ Super Bowl aspirations have taken a bit of a hit (the Vikings’ a bit more than the Packers’). Other than Brett Favre playing his former team, this game means almost nothing to the Vikes. The Pack, on the other hand, need a win to stay in the mix atop the NFC.

CHIEFS (-7) over Cardinals
Never take an NFC West team on the road.

Ravens (-10.5) over PANTHERS
Congratulations Panthers, you are now in the driver’s seat for the number one pick!

Texans (+7) over JETS
While I still like the Jets to win this one, New York hasn’t blown teams out this year. They’ve needed last minute heroics against the Broncos and overtime against the Browns to squeak out wins the past couple weeks. The Texans are better than both these teams.

TITANS (-7) over Redskins
Two of the league’s more inconsistent teams, this game is near meaningless now to the Redskins whereas the Titans need a win to stay in the AFC Wild Card mix.

Lions (+6.5) over COWBOYS
I would like to say Jerry Jones won’t fire Jason Garrett this week to inspire his team again, but you never know with him.

Bills (+5.5) over BENGALS
Not only are the Bills hot and arguably the better team than the Bengals, but Gus Johnson is calling the game guaranteeing the game will be decided by less than a touchdown.

STEELERS (-7) over Raiders
The Raiders may well win the AFC West, but if the Steelers are the best team in the NFL like many think then they win this game.

Browns (+1.5) over JAGUARS
The Browns pushed the Jets to overtime last week only to lose in its final seconds while the Jaguars won in literally the last second of regulation over the Texans. A perfect storm of bounce back and letdown game.

Falcons (-3) over RAMS
ESPN.com ranked the Falcons atop their power rankings. If ESPN knows anything the Falcons win this game.

Buccaneers (+3.5) over 49ERS
Don’t look now but the Buccaneers are 6-3 and Josh Freeman is playing like a Pro Bowler. Playoffs may not be in the cards for the Bucs this year, but the future looks promising.

SAINTS (-11.5) over Seahawks
NFC West team on the road.

Colts (+4) over PATRIOTS
Don’t people in New England seem just a little too excited about the Patriots. Has everyone forgotten that Peyton Manning is still the Colts quarterback?

Giants (+3) over EAGLES
Once a year, everything comes together for the Eagles offense and every “expert” says they are unstoppable, then they lay an egg and everyone hops off the bandwagon.

CHARGERS (-10) over Broncos
When has it been long enough to fire Josh McDaniels?

NFN’s Week 7 NFL Picks

By David Wilson
FALCONS (-3.5) over Bengals
Does one loss to the Eagles really qualify them to only be a 3.5-point home favorite against the lowly Bengals?

Redskins (+3) over BEARS
The Bears have been the mark of inconsistency so far this year. The Redskins pushed the Colts a week ago and should pull off the upset.

With Vince Young likely out, Kerry Collins will have to carry the Titans against one of the NFC's best.

Eagles (+3) over TITANS
With Vince Young highly questionable the Eagles should be a no-brainer here. Kerry Collins is no longer an NFL starting caliber quarterback. The Eagles proved they’re among the NFC’s elite last week and there’s no way the AFC is that much better than the AFC.

Steelers (-3) over DOLPHINS
The NFL’s best team only a three point favorite against the AFC East’s third best team? Easy money.

SAINTS (-13) over Browns
The Saints got their first truly blowout victory of the season last weekend. This is where they start to roll.

Rams (+2.5) over BUCCANEERS
The Bucs got exposed as the bad team they are last weekend which means… wait, the Rams got exposed two weeks ago. Oh, well, Sam Bradford’s part Cherokee and that’s pretty cool.

RAVENS (-13) at Bills
The Bills suck. The Ravens are good. Ed Reed is back. Anything else? Yep, I think that about covers it.

CHIEFS (-9) over Jaguars
Todd Bouman is starting at quarterback for the Jags this weekend.

49ers (-3) over PANTHERS
When Niners owner Jed York said his team was gonna win the division after an 0-5 start, I doubt he expected to be back in first so soon. They only need, what, two more wins to take the division lead? (I wish that were a joke, but right now they are legitimately only two games back of first in the win column.)

Raiders (+8.5) over BRONCOS
I know Kyle Orton is having a good year, but I just can’t see these Broncos blowing out many teams this year, especially in a divisional game.

PACKERS (-2.5) over Vikings
The Pack are at home coming off a couple heartbreaking losses and only 2.5 point favorites? One win for the Vikes doesn’t justify this hype. Packers roll and get their season back on track.

COWBOYS (-2.5) over Giants
The Cowboys at home in roughly their fourth must-win game of the season finally will win one of them. The Giants are too inconsistent for my liking.
